    Section 1: Season

    • Girls Beach Volleyball is classified as a Spring Sport.

    • Practices may begin on the date specified for Spring Sports in the NCS Calendar.

    Section 2: General Regulations All beach volleyball matches shall be conducted under the current

    California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Beach Volleyball Rules.

     

    Section 3: Scoring and Timeouts

    • Matches will follow a best-of-three sets format, with scoring as follows:

      • Sets 1 and 2 played to 21 points,

      • Set 3 (if necessary) played to 15 points.

    • Rally scoring will be utilized, with teams required to win by a margin of two points.

    • Teams will switch sides after 7 total points of play in sets 1 and 2; this is not a timeout or water break. Play will resume immediately after the switch.

    • Results from the top five pairs will determine the outcome of the match.

    • Each team is allowed one timeout per set, lasting 60 seconds.

     

    Section 4: Match Schedule

    • Matches will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

    • Match start times will be 4:00 pm.

     

    Section 5: League Championship

    • The League Championship shall be determined by the standings resulting from dual meet competitions.

     

    Section 6: All-League and MVP Selection

    • All-League honors and the MVP award will be earned through an end-of-season individual pairs competition.

    • Each school will submit its top [number of pairs to be determined] to participate.

    • A bracket will be created based on the individual pairs' records in league play throughout the season.
